Robert H. and Clarice Smith Gallery
The two-level, 5,200-square-foot Robert H. and Clarice Smith Gallery houses four sophisticated and innovative exhibitions that offer Monticello's visitors fresh, in-depth perspectives on the power and consequence of Thomas Jefferson's ideas, on his dedication to his country, and on Monticello, his home, plantation, and laboratory.
The four exhibition spaces are:
- Stacy Smith Liss Gallery (The Words of Thomas Jefferson)
- Michelle Smith Gallery (Thomas Jefferson and 'the Boisterous Sea of Liberty')
- David Bruce Smith Gallery (Making Monticello: Jefferson's 'Essay in Architecture')
- Jeffrey C. Walker Family Foundation Gallery (Monticello as Experiment: 'To Try All Things')
The Robert H. and Clarice Smith Gallery is accessible from both the courtyard and upper (shuttle bus station) levels of the center. The four exhibitions in the building are open daily.
